Cultural Narrative:
Lucy attended school, from grade 1 to 10th grade in Nespelem. To get to school, Lucy would ride 3 miles back and forth on horseback. When Lucy was 19, she decided to attend Haskell Institute (Presently known as Haskell University) in Lawrence, Kansas, to finish High School between 1929 and 1931. At Haskell, Lucy was active in the Junior Business Women's Club. Contributed by Yvette Joseph, MSW and Confederated Colville Tribes member.
